Staves are a weapon type in  Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Staves are close to medium range weapons that deal area of effect attacks. Staves attacks deal only elemental damage.

 

Damage

  • Staves deal base damage consisting only of elemental damage and each element's damage over time component.
    • Fire Staves deal Fire Damage The extra burning damage over time is approximately 90% of the base fire damage over 3 seconds.
    • Ice staves deal Ice damage. The extra freezing damage over time is is approximately 40% of the base ice damage over 6 seconds.
    • Lightning Staves deal Lightning damage. The extra Shocking damage over time is approximately 60% of the base lightning damage over 5 seconds.
    • Primal Staves deal Primal damage, with an extra primal damage over time of approximately 60% of the base Primal damage over 10 seconds.
  • Staves are one of the slowest weapons of the game. Being only faster than Hammers.
  • By spending points on the Arcane Weaponry series of abilities, you will unlock more combat moves for the Staff.
  • The damage over time component, can  potentially make Staves one of the most damaging weapon types in the game.

Abilities

Investing in the Arcane Weaponry will grant new attack moves for the Staff and investing in the Staff Mastery will increase the damage delivered when using a Staff to attack. 

Crafting

The Fateless One can use any Blacksmithing Forge, to craft Staves by using an elemental Rod and a Shaft. Rivets and Bindings can also be used as  additional components but it is not mandatory.

Weapon Moves

  • Charged Entropy: A charged attack, that deals damage to the surrounding foes.(Requires Arcane Weaponry I)
  • Mage's Vortex: Enemies will be drawn to a central location in front of you by a small tornado. (Requires Arcane Weaponry II)
  • Arcane Fury: Launches enemies into the air and away from the player (Requires Arcane Weaponry III)
