Kite Shields are a type of armor in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Kite Shields are protective gear that can be worn by might-based characters. Kite Shields use the shield armor slot.
Parrying
Kite Shields can be used actively to reduce or completely block an incoming attack with a Parry. To perform a parry, The Fateless One must use the Kite Shield at the exact time the enemy is unleashing an attack. This will completely disrupt the attack and stagger the enemy, allowing for a counter attack. This will also deal physical damage, which is based on the armor of the shield used.
Parrying only works against humanoid enemies.
Crafting Kite Shields
Kite Shields can be crafted at any Blacksmithing Forge by using a Metal Guard and a Grip. Trims and Rivets are optional Components that can grant even more bonuses to the crafted item.
