Mercantile is a Skill in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Skills in KoA: Re-Reckoning are non-combat talents that allow you to improve your capability to craft, to discover different ways to play and interact with the environment, and to make it easier to go through some situations, which can aid you in your playthrough. Mercantile improves the character's trading skill.
Mercantile Description:
- Allows yoy to sell for more and buy for less.
- Mercantile will let you gain plenty of gold from selling Rare and Unique items, which can be used to purchase more cost-effective equipment.
- Not all merchants will pay the same price for your goods
- Does not have any effect on quest rewards
How to Acquire Mercantile:
Mastering Mercantile requires a total of 10 Skill Points. You can acquire and improve Mercantile by different ways:
- Race Bonuses: There are only one race which gives Mercantile bonus just by choosing it in Character Creation:
- has a +1 Mercantile bonuses
- Leveling Up:
- By level 40, you'll have earned 40 skill points from leveling.
- Skill Books:
- These are special books found in Amalur or given as rewards for quests that allow you to increase a specific skill.
- These are named as "Skill Book (Skill Name)"
- Once you have the Skill Book (Mercantile), open your inventory and read it to receive a permanent +1 increase to Mercantile
- Skill Book (Mercantile) boost cannot be reset by Fateweavers
- Although you can find more than one Skill Book (Mercantile), you can benefit from at most one skill book
- Mercantile Trainers:
- Trainers are NPCs who can increase one skill you have by a factor of 1.
- Any upgrade cost an amount of gold
- Any Trainer can only be used once
- These are two basic, one advanced and two master trainers
- You can find four trainers for Mercantile scattered throughout The Faelands
- There is a fifth trainer, that comes along with The Legend of Dead Kel DLC
Each of these trainers has a range of level requirements in which a character's skill level has to fall, in order to be eligible for training. If you are too skilled (or not skilled enough), you cannot learn from Trainers
